Teacher Testimonials
Stacey B.
Hope Valley Elementary
I have two! 1. A meaningful memory for me was when I prepared awards for my students at the end of last school year. I loved looking back and seeing how hard they had worked and the progress they had made in mastering academic English. It makes the difficult parts of teaching worth it when you can celebrate students' success. 2. A highlight of my year is the kite unit I do with second grade where we study the history and science of kites and how weather is involved. Kites play a role in Afghan culture, so my heart warms as my Afghan students' eyes light up and they share their background knowledge with the class. We end the unit by going outside to fly kites!

Riverside High School
Trips to the Eno are always my favorite, any time of year! My students threw me a wonderful 30th birthday party (now 12 years ago!). Now some of my former students are teaching at Riverside...and that is inspiring and humbling!

R N Harris
It is the camaraderie within the school community where every employee helps to provide a village type environment that focuses on the educational outcome for the individual child. Harris is unique because of once being the best kept secret where our goal is to keep the main thing the main thing and that is educating our children. Now that the secret is out, our goal is still the same.

Mangum
I attended Mangum as a student, and when I was in Mrs. Ray’s fourth grade class, I decided I wanted to be a teacher and come back and teach at Mangum, and that is just what I did. Now, I work across the hall from Mrs. Ray and she continues to inspire me as a mentor and friend.

Fayetteville Street Elementary
The joy the students give me on a daily basis is incalculable when I get witness them realizing what they are capable of. Every day they make me laugh, and I never cease to be blown away by how quickly they master new skills.
