Grant Spotlights

This fall, DPS Foundation awarded $233,000 in grants to 47 schools. We’re spotlighting a few of those in this blog post, including two student-led projects and an educator project. See the full list at www.bullcityschools.org/school-grants and stay tuned in as we follow along with their work.

 

These students at Hillside High are taking action on the mental health crisis impacting their peers. With WHOLE Schools funds, they’ll be creating a workshop for fellow students designed to connect them to mental health organizations and share coping skills and resources.

 

Meet Mrs. Osayi, a teacher at Burton Elementary School. Her students wanted to experience the zoo after being taught about animals, their life cycles and habitats. She shares more about how this grant will impact her group of exceptional children. (Note: the total grant to Burton was for the field trip and other projects.)
